Leopard – the Install 04

Amazing, but true.

It’s gone perfectly. There don’t seem to be any applications that don’t work with it, and everything is humming along. Spotlight finished working through my system disc and can look up anything much more quickly than the old version. (I love the way you can look up dictionary words with it.)

I have Time Machine backing up my entire music collection as well as my main drives. That’s going to take a good long time — it’s almost 700 GB! I’m backing up to a terabyte drive, which should work for now. Presumably after the first backup it will then backup incrementally, so I can have my backups in pretty good shape.

Amazing that I’ll probably be needing a larger drive in the reasonably near future, however…something like a 2TB jobber or something like that.

There is so much to enjoy in this OS; great graphics, cover flow (which turns out to be terrific), a general responsive feel to the whole thing, unified interface at long last, a lot of nice stuff.

Painless update…who would have thought?
